Bilingual English & Chinese Playgroup

Pilot Program Beginning February 27, 2024

Children ages three to five will gather with their caregivers and together explore the wonders of Waldorf Early Childhood. They will experience how it meets the developing child through song, puppetry and circle games led by master teacher Ningyaun Yu. 

  • For parents or caregivers and children ages 3–5 years

  • Tuesdays, February 27–March 26, 3:30-4:30 p.m.

  • Held in the Parent-Child classroom in the Main Building

  • Limited to 10 caregivers and their children

  • $100 fee per session (5 classes per session)

  • Daily activities include singing, circle time, and puppet show

Mr. Yu brings a deep background in Waldorf education as well as over 20 years of teaching experience in the US and China. After earning his Master’s in Education from Sunbridge College in 2003, Mr. Yu joined the faculty at Princeton Waldorf School in New Jersey, where he developed the school’s Mandarin program for grades 1-8. Mr. In 2011, Mr. Yu returned to China, where he co-founded the Beijing Spring Valley Waldorf School and Spring Valley Waldorf Teacher Training Program—one of the earliest Waldorf education institutions in China.

Mr. Yu is a published and celebrated poet and cultural studies scholar, with 80 poems and 20 articles published in major professional journals of education, sociology and art, as well as in many Chinese newspapers and magazines.
