Sweet Peas
For Parents, Caregivers & Children Ages 18 months to 3 years
Our Sweet Peas program provides families with a gentle transition within the classroom. The class follows the seasonal rhythms of the world of nature. Daily activities include baking bread, creative free play, circle games and songs, storytelling, puppetry, crafts, outdoor play such as gardening and nature walks, and a healthy snack (which the children help to prepare). To support families beyond the classroom time, we offer adult education classes via Zoom throughout the school year focusing on child development. The study book Heaven on Earth: A Handbook for Parents of Young Children, by Sharifa Oppenheimer, is available upon request. Two in-person adult class meetings and one Saturday family outing are also included.
Sweet Peas is offered on a semester basis (Fall and Spring) and is held in the Parent-Child classroom, within the Main School Building. Each semester is limited to 10 caregivers and their children.
