Our afterschool programs give parents and guardians the option to extend the school day until 3:00 or 6:00 p.m. For WSL students in grades 1–5, who are dismissed at 12:30 p.m. on Thursdays, we offer afterschool care from 12:30–3:00 p.m.

Early Childhood Aftercare Program

Our Aftercare Program, for nursery and kindergarten students enrolled at the Waldorf School of Lexington, gives parents the option to extend the school day until 3:00 p.m. or until 6:00 p.m.

  • 12:30–3:00 p.m.; and up until 6:00 p.m.

  • Flexible enrollment for 1 to 5 afternoons

  • Lunch and rest time

  • Free play indoors and outside

  • Drop-in attendance is available to students already enrolled in Nursery and Kindergarten Aftercare (space permitting)

Extended Day

  • For grades 1–5

  • 3:00–6:00 p.m.

  • Flexible enrollment for 1 to 5 afternoons

  • Includes a nourishing snack

  • Free play indoors and outside

  • Arts and crafts

  • Time for homework or music lessons (at the school)

  • Drop-in attendance is available to all Grade 1-5 WSL students regardless of Extended Day enrollment status (space permitting)

Thursday Program

  • For grades 1–5

  • 12:30–3:00 on Thursdays only

  • Free play indoors and outside

  • Drop-in attendance is available to all Grade 1-5 WSL students regardless of Thursday Afternoon enrollment status (space permitting)

*Available to students already enrolled in Nursery and Kindergarten Aftercare (space permitting)

Afterschool Program Terms

Afterschool Programs begin on Friday, September 6, 2024

Nursery & Kindergarten Aftercare and Gr. 1-5 Extended Day Program registration now operates on a per semester basis:

  • Fall Semester (September–December)

  • Spring Semester (January–June)

  • Registration is prorated from the date of enrollment

Afterschool Program Enrollment Adjustments

  • Families may terminate their child's afterschool program enrollment at any time (refunds are not retroactive).

  • A $50 change fee will be assessed for all program changes after September 30 for the Fall and after January 31 for the Spring semester. 

Payment Options:

  • Fall Semester: One-time payment due October 20 OR three payments due October 20, November 20, and December 20.

  • Spring: One-time payment due on January 20 OR four payments due January 20, February 20, March 20, and April 20.
