Valentines Love

“Spread love everywhere you go.
Let no one come to you without leaving happier.” -Mother Theresa

Here at WSL we celebrate Valentine's Day by spreading messages of good cheer, kindness and connection. Our Eighth Grade has kicked off the festivities crafting valentines for their First Grade buddies during their Social Inclusion class with Ms. Cody. These custom-made, heart-felt greetings are just the beginning as many of our teachers have created valentines with their classes, in English, German, Mandarin, Spanish and Portuguese. These valentine cards, crafted in an array of styles, and filled with warm sentiments of hope and encouragement will be delivered to our cleaning staff, Thursday Covid testing facilitators, neighbors (both residential and businesses including Wilson Farm employees, Town of Lexington offices and first responders), home-bound Lexington senior citizens via Meals on Wheels, Deutsches Altenheim (elderly senior care center for German-Americans) and the Stephen Ministry Outreach Program (who will be distributing valentines in Mandarin to individuals in the Chinese community who are experiencing the loss of a loved one, depression, physical illness, or aging/loneliness).

The cards have been created over the past weeks and some have been temporarily displayed in the front hall (view here) to inspire and delight students and faculty passing in the hallway.

Thanks to Kim Ayan, our Development & Community Life Assistant, for coordinating this project and ensuring that these beautiful hand-made valentines will find their way to folks who could use a little touch of cheer and kind thoughts.
